Accountancy Recruit is partnering with an international FMCG manufacturing group in the recruitment of a UK Finance Manager. The role is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk at the head office for the UK operation, which consists of 5 individual sites. The UK Finance Manager leads the finance function to deliver the financial management of the UK business entities. As part of the UK and Regional Leadership Team the Finance Manager is business partner to the General Manager and will work with peers across the regional functions to develop and improve effectiveness of the local business.

This Finance Manager role will offer real scope to achieve your professional goals with involvement in a broad spectrum of accounting and project work. You will be in the finance person on site, reporting directly to the CFO Europe.

Duties

  • Managing the Finance Team, ensuring training and development needs are met
  • Overseeing and reviewing the monthly management and financial accounts
  • Timely monthly accounts closing and reporting to group deadlines
  • Clean financial statements and audits
  • Liaising with external auditors and reviewing audit procedures
  • Responsible for Corporate Income Tax returns and other fiscal filings in liaison with external Tax Consultants
  • Ensure budgeting, forecasting, corporate financial reporting, financial analysis and business plans are produced in a timely manner and are fit for purpose
  • Production of monthly cash flow and working capital forecasts and management
  • Monitoring business performance and lead with the Operating Head, the development of corrective actions if needed, in particular: commercial margins and site performance
  • Ad hoc financial analyses
  • Contributing to Group Financial Process improvement and maintaining controls integrity
  • Critically evaluate Capex proposals, monitor spending, and authorise as appropriate
  • Maintain relationship with auditors, tax advisers, banks, government agencies, suppliers and customers
  • Payroll handling and processing with guidance of HR and support of an external provider
  • Occasional ravel to other UK sites

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • FQ: ACA, ACCA or ACMA
  • 5 years Post Qualified
  • Background in FMCG or Manufacturing desirable
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems - JD Edwards desirable
  • Advanced Excel
  • Business Partnering the senior team in a sizable business unit
  • Leading and managing a team
