SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to a team of information technology analysts and architect that are responsible for designing and implementing information technology initiatives that support the strategic objective of Hibbett I City Gear business area. The Senior Manager, BI Solutions is thoroughly involved in solution support and project delivery. Selects and recommends mitigation strategies that meet business needs. Directs the business requirements of gathering, testing, and installing the information technology initiatives based upon the user-defined business requirements. The Senior Manager, BI Solutions is an effective liaison between business departments and the information technology department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage, and mentor a team of solution analysts, programmer analyst and/or architect and support areas ensuring proper training and career development, creating a team of high-performing information technology experts. Supervise and lead the solutions analyst, programmer analyst and architects to oversee the impacts and interdependencies between processes and working to ensure initiatives meet the goals and objectives of the IT Steering Committee.
  • Identify staffing needs, provide general direction, assign specific tasks and responsibilities, and evaluate staff. Identify needs and allocate the appropriate resources to meet timely completion of specific project tasks.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the solution area's portfolio, resources, and scheduling.
  • Continually monitor individual progress to insure meeting of specific deadlines.
  • Partner with IT PMO, and business stakeholders to set priorities and carry out IT objectives and initiatives. Evaluate business objectives that require new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Translate business wants/needs into capabilities while identifying implications of change. Plan for future business capabilities, identify application gaps and identify when needs are required.
  • Organize, prepare, and execute monthly business reviews. Gather, organize, and communicate status, issues, and strategies to business customers.
  • Anticipate risks and needs and quickly consider impact to decide how to best utilize department resources in a creative, cost-effective manner.
  • Review/approve requirements documents, technical specifications, quality assurance test scripts, and regression test scripts.
  • Interface with business users, business management, and IT management.
  • Self-manage production (day-to-day support) and project work activities.
  • Assist in estimating resource allocations for new projects, assist in managing the deliverables of third-party labor, assist in managing software and hardware vendors.
  • Support organization's change control and configuration management efforts. Define, develop, and document new processes, procedures, and system models. Support process and procedure roll-out and implementation.
  • Resolve priorities and resource requirement conflicts. Asses new computing technologies to determine potential value for Hibbett I City Gear.
  • Oversee ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system enhancement.
  • After business hours on-call availability required.
  • Protects the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages a team of Senior Solutions Analysts, Solutions Analysts, Architects, and Senior Programmers/Analysts. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Management or a related field required
  • 6 or more years of experience in Information Technology including in depth knowledge of business intelligence, data warehouse and analytics systems and processes.
  • Relevant work experience in an IT leadership role including experience leading employees and contractors.
  • Relevant experience in an application development and support leadership role.
  • 2+ years' experience leading solution and technical delivery of data warehouse, business intelligence, data analytics solutions. Experience with Microstrategy, Snowflake is a plus
  • Knowledge and expertise in retail platform architecture and design, ideal candidates will have experience with a BI Reporting and Enterprise Integration platform and at least one of the following: Microstrategy, Snowflake Data Cloud, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate business vision into executable IT strategy.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • History of success in making changes and achieving objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, delegate tasks, and allocate resources.
