Job Description Summary
The Senior Internal Auditor Government Business Systems, provides independent and objective assurance services by executing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the sufficiency and effectiveness of GE Edison Workss risk management, financial and operational controls, and governance in the six Government Business Systems as defined in the Defense Federal Acquisition Supplement (DFARS) section Contractor Business Systems. Conducts Audits and reviews of Business Systems in GE Edison Works. Offers process improvement solutions aimed at assisting the business meet goals and objectives aligned to establishing and maintaining approved contractor business systems. Develops audit findings, identifies root causes and offers recommendations to create positive change.
Lead the execution of audits to ensure the readiness of the Government Business Systems and supporting horizontal processes for the GE Edison Works business
Provide analysis of results, develop corrective actions in coordination with the Business System owners and key process stakeholders, prepare audit reports, follow up on corrective action plans and perform audit closeout activities
Collaborate with the Business System owners, key process stakeholders, group compliance focal points and Internal Audit to develop and implement risk-based audit plans
Communicate audit results and Business System readiness to System owners, P&L management team, and other stakeholders
Review existing processes and help develop streamlined outcomes using Digital self-service and Lean tools
Collaborate on the development and implementation of Digital strategies and tools in support of the GE Aviation and GE Edison Works government business portfolio
Provide advice and counsel to operations management and business systems owners
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
At least 5 years of experience in a financial, legal, operations, government accounting, government pricing, government contracts, audit, program / project management or related manufacturing / industrial field
Active SECRET Security Clearance OR eligibility to obtain a SECRET clearance.
Ability to work on-site in a secure environment in Evendale, Ohio
Ability to travel 10% of the time
Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry and US Government contracts
MBA, CPA, CIA or CGFM
Significant expertise in US Government contracting with broad understanding of FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards
Demonstrates business acumen, problem-solving and ability to work across organizational boundaries
Strong oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of internal audit including identification and testing internal controls, fraud indicators, risk assessment, workpaper documentation, etc.
Prior Government contract management and/or audit experience (DCAA or industry-equivalent audit function) at the branch or supervisory level
Understanding of manufacturing operations and interrelated support systems including Supply Chain, Sourcing, Planning, Engineering and Quality
Familiarity with Lean principles
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products
