Your role in the team This role would suit someone with a real passion for surveyance, construction or even DIY. It's a varied role and a great opportunity to develop your skills and grow. This role will focus on managing day to day relationships with suppliers and ensuring your customers are kept satisfied. You'll manage the reactive repairs process, using contractor and in-house systems and work closely with the Help Desk to make sure repairs are delivered to time scale. You'll also assist the Construction Department with refits, following processes and procedures to ensure maintenance issues are communicated and that at the end of the defects liability period, the hand-over to maintenance is carried out effectively. Other responsibilities include: Liaise with landlords and Operations to effectively manage repair requirements to approved standards and within agreed timeframes Prepare and deliver an average of 100 building fabric and condition surveys to agreed format and standards, per annum Ensure all fixed mechanical and electrical equipment is fit for purpose and trade loss reduced by minimizing unplanned reactive work Manage the area planned preventative maintenance plan, to ensure work is carried out on time and to the quality standard approved Prepare and manage capital project works as directed and deliver in line with programme and budget requirements Manage the effective delivery of the agreed asset refurbishment programme to approved standards on time and to budget Manage the disaster recovery plan Manage statutory legislative requirements, implementing findings and recommendations to ensure full compliance and avoiding litigation and trade disruption Forge strong relationships with key stakeholders Effectively manage third party suppliers to ensure quality of approach and value Provide guidance and expertise for colleagues Keep our Values in mind in everything you do.About You You might have just completed your surveyor qualifications or you might have some working experience of the role and want to develop further. Whatever your level, this is a great opportunity to learn and grow within an inhouse team. Understanding and working knowledge of current Asbestos Compliance Regulations, Electrical Testing, General PPM Compliance would be advantageous but not essential Knowledge of Legionella L8 Compliance Regulations/DDA (equalities act 2010) Excellent all-round technical knowledge of construction materials and techniques Ability to assist in preparation of the Revenue Repair Budgets Proven understanding and experience in managing financial budgets Relevant professional or academic qualification or proven extensive knowledge and experience within similar fast track multi-site retail environment Proven ability to manage and deliver effective property maintenance services and solutions in a fast-track multi-site retail environment spread over a large geographical area Experience of managing conflicting stakeholder priorities and expectations together with prioritizing a demanding workload Proven ability to effectively and confidently work remotely with minimum day to day supervision Ability to travel to all parts of the operational areas and company offices, involving overnight stays in hotels, as required Excellent time management and resource management skills.What we offer We take the safety and wellbeing of our employees seriously, especially at this challenging time.
