FRS-UK are working with a fast-growing start-up who actively recruiting for a Planning / Buying Manager to join their team. As the Planning & Buying Manager, you ll work closely with stakeholders across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Operations to manage end-to-end supply chain activities from demand generation and planning to order creation and fulfilment. This is a high-profile, cross functional position that plays an integral role in enabling production flow and supporting our product development, deployment and field operations. You will need to be a data-driven professional who is focused on improvement and not afraid to own and develop relationships and processes from the ground up. In this role, you ll gain experience across the many facets of supply chain management, along with the unique ability to support one of the UK most exciting Start-Up businesses. Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Oversee, develop and manage the demand plan for all products Manage bill of materials (BOM) within the MRP system Mitigate risk and ensure continuity of supply by constructing and executing to a well thought out supply plan that fulfils the needs of the product on time Partner with internal stakeholders on implementing advanced supply chain strategies and LTA and DFM Proactively manage inventory, preventing shortages while optimising the utilisation of working capital Analyse specifications and capacity and work closely with our supply chain to estimate job requirements, in terms of labour, tools, materials and resources Liaise with design teams to facilitate any design changes, ensuring material requirements does not adversely impact production s ability to deliver to plan Continually monitor and review plans and make appropriate adjustments in the event of changes and unforeseen circumstances Develop, manage and maintain good relationships with suppliers and distributors to ensure communication channels are open and the team is aware of real time delivery and work in process information Researches and evaluates material usage then establishes ordering criteria to assure adequate but not excessive inventory on hand Create capacity plans to meet business targets and optimise manufacturing efficiency and costs Monitor and manage spend to ensure adherence to project-specific budgets and forecasts Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures Proactively update and steer company management, engineering and production teams on all critical supply issues Analyse supply chain data and report metrics Key Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering planning function Experience of working in a high-growth start-up environment Experience navigating multi-tier bill of materials and work orders Experience working in a electromechanical production environment Experience developing cost models and performing trade studies Experience working within a purchasing/planning ERP and PLM systems Proficient in Excel & Google Sheets (including pivot tables), Google Suite Knowledge and Understanding: Strong knowledge of enterprise applications (i.e., PLM, ERP, MES) and proficient in data analysis. Technical knowledge in electro-mechanical systems Knowledge of LEAN tools and KPIs to aid improved business efficiency and control Qualifications and Training: Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations Management, or similar Part or fully qualified CIPS or IOM or equivalent practical experience
