A fixed term contract role until March 2023 for an experience Payroll Project Manager, paying up to £50,000 per annum and offering hybrid working with an office based in Manchester.

The key responsibilities of a Payroll Project Manager will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Maintaining project plans, including risks, actions, issues, dependencies

  • Working alongside procurement to source and negotiate with 3rd party framework vendors

  • Facilitate cross functional payroll steering group for decision making

  • Owning the action plan and risk management processes through to completion

  • Developing and documenting new payroll processes and controls

  • Stakeholder engagement including issue escalation

  • Bi-weekly board presentations with update and RAG status

  • Specialist point of contact for all payroll related matters

  • Employment of Agile project management methodologies

  • Pensions management consultancy

  • Advising on leveraging best practice time saving tools such as employee self-service and applicant tracking systems


The successful candidate must possess;

  • Minimum of 5 years payroll experience including expenses, pensions, and benefits
  • Experience using Finance systems
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbally
  • Full knowledge and understanding of payroll process
  • Experience in Project Management;
  • Experience in system implementation and roll out.
