We're recruiting for a passionate Learning Support Assistant role at a busy special educational needs school in Birmingham. The position will be starting November 2022 and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year.

The school caters for children from the age of five to sixteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Although this position is to work in a school environment, we are open to receiving applications from TA's, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with special educational needs.

This school seeks to provide the students with a combination of class based learning and real-life experiences and skills that will help them to prepare for the demands of future employment, supported or independent. You will be supporting the students individually and in small groups, supporting with all areas of the curriculum and promoting independence where possible.

The role:

  • You must have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or experience in a similar setting
  • You will be required to work across different rooms and age groups, showing initiative and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • You must also have excellent communication skills as will be required to work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants
